Hey. Don't miss this one. Came in The Humble Indie Bundle V, with a bunch of other high class awesome games. Enough games to forget about the real world for a while.
Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery EP  also came time ago on ipad, actually these screenshots are macro pictures taken from one of those contraptions. Awesome mood & amazing music(also included in the Bundle). Its a beautyfull exploratory and sense uplifting game. My cat is busting my balls. Human relationships are hard. It's cold and raining outside. TSS

I love you. Gimme a hug

These 3 screens are dedicated to my friend Maxi, who was provably playing Starfox in his Super Nintendo when I was shooting these. Hail yeah.

hard work

If you want to achieve something, you've got to do some hard work.

So there I was, surrounded by characters from video-games, comics, movies, series. I was feeling strange, but also comforted. The Montevideo Comics 2012 felt much alike the rest of the Montevideo Comics that I visited, in the same building, in the center of our small city. What I like the most is what happens in the streets around the event. Lots of weird looking characters walking the streets, adding some colors, making the difference, saying something like "Yeah, I wear a costume and I'm not a tranny" "Fuck you gray sad looking Uruguayan old majority! I'm gonna dress like a Japanese tonight and I'm gonna walk among you!". I think I love those guys, I like to see them taking what they love to the maximum, dressing and being whatever they are with no shame, fuck it, good thing. I went there with two friends that are anything but normal people either..

We went there make some publicity for a movie that we are working in, putting some posters around, whatever, i love them too. Also at the comic weirdo manga gaming party:

    anime of course...

some Seba...

Lara Croft in a filled with glamour place with a bear-man...

this dangerous gorditou...

and this girl that came to sell chinese stuff to otakus(good business)..

..and of course the Hitman from the top, my personal favorite from the evening.
Luckily for us, we have some beautiful nice shaders in our world to show this beautiful gamma of amazing colors and humans.

Life/Portal 2

Mi idea was to get home from a late night at work and write some words for my almost not visited blog... while drinking some WINE. When I imagine myself in the future drinking wine, I'm doing it from a  Red Wine Glass. Then I realized; I do not have a red Wine Glass in my house! I had arrived home like 2 minutes ago but i knew I had to get out again, so i changed my boots to running shoes, got my coat, a small amount of money(but enough for the thing) and went out again. The closest supermarket from home was closed for sure, so i went for a small store, they didn't had red wine glasses but they told me of another supermarket that could still be open like 6 blocks away. I started running a bit and when i got a block away i could already see the lights off, no buying people around, and already in the market's door, 3 well dressed transvestites walking in the night looking for some fun. So... I started walking to another place where i thought I could get a chance. For the next minutes I visited like 2 small stores, one gas station and one place that almost hit the spot, they had 2 of the things in one box... expensive fancy box that didn't match the money in my pocket. Then I thought to myself: "If this was a video game I wouldn't have a problem about going to a bar and ask for a glass, just to see what could happen(and paying it of course)". So I did; In the first one they wont sell me the thing because they had just a few, those things brake a lot. In the second place, this time bigger but cheaper almost folkloric bar called "La Pasiva" (that will be "The Passive" for you). This time, old angry looking folks running the place, and already a bad vibe but what the hell... "I can't sell you the service of the house"........ OK, then I got a little frustrated and thought: "C'MON MAN?! WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME A GUY CAME TO YOUR BAR SMILING AT YOU ASKING FOR BUYING A RED WINE CUP IN A COLD FRIDAY EVENING?! COULDN'T YOU BE A LITTLE MORE FRIENDLY?  so I went home, defeated... In a video game, some may choose to kill the guy and get everything from the bar and maybe empty all the town from any walking living thing too. I provably may choose to sneak on him and rob the goddamn thing, but I had quit that, I only do that in video games nowadays.

You can say I'm fancy, well... sometimes I am, but now I'm drinking wine from a glass... it's not that terrible, tastes good, makes me wanna smoke that abano venezolano while i hear Jamiroquai's, funky good.
SO... a week ago I wanted to write about provably one of the best games that I ever played, you know? a blue portal here, then an orange portal there, and voila! This mechanic repeats itself in all the game and if you didn't play this thing an you start to imagine you can think that this could be kinda boring in a while, but the truth is that is not. This amazing mechanic transforms itself in your new way of thinking, and its always reinventing itself in combination with other elements of the game.

You have this gadget then, and I'm calling it a gadget couse this is not a weapon, although it fires something, you wont kill anybody with it. Hey, I'm talking about Portal 2 here!, this game deserves an award (oh.. I think it did won some of those).
I didn't play Portal 1, actually I did for some minutes, but i was affected but the effects of marijuana and I felt so trapped in that lab that I had to run away, I thought I didn't like the game but my friend Joaquín insisted that I was some kind of imbecile for not playing it, especially for not playing Portal 2, because the first its some kind of experiment that went really good he says, something like that... I'm getting a little drunk, like getting into a portal in the floor and appearing in the roof falling upside down.
Please, do me a favor and click this image so you can watch it for a second in full resolution. Something happened to me in this game several times; I stood still. It's not the first time that that happened to me in video games but, in Portal 2, I had to stood still in almost all the levels of the game. Right now my brain stood still on "levels", I'm realizing that in the game you actually have "levels". Every time you finish a "test" you find at the end an elevator that gets you to the next "level" in the Aperture Science labs, and in that lift the game loads. I was curious about that, I was remembering "Half Life", where the game loaded from time to time in some points but trying to make the thing just one experience without levels. In Portal 2 they did the exact opposite thing, make the levels a literal thing. Awesome, this guy are the best. Why did I had to stood still?
...and that's only a still image from this amazing game, man... the sound and music made for this game is like one of the best things that I ever heard playing a game. It was like listening to one of the best electronic musicians that are around, combined with a sound that came from the another side of the portal. The music is made by Mike Morasky, and you can listen to this awesome album here, its an intense electronic existential  also nostalgic beauty. And the sound design moves with you, when you start figuring out the puzzles the music is telling you that you'r warmer to get there, adding samples like adding instruments in an orchestra. The animations moves the same way, like an amazing huge clock that works to you, and you'r inside of it. And to say something about the design, well... It's like the everything in that place is made by an schizophrenic forgotten robot mother that built things to feel less alone. Sounds very sad & insane but, all the game is filled with an amazing quite black humor that keeps you going.
ALERT: If you keep scrolling down non stop you'll get the biggest spoilers you could get for this game. You have been advised.
I know lots of people that doesn't know the power of video games, and its understandable, the video game industry still is a new industry. Movies born like 110 years ago and video games have like 40 years, and i think that we have to count from 1990 up, when games started to be really in 3D, so just a few years ago(like 20), we can do whatever we want as developers and players to make a really good full experience. There are no limits, the distance between the player and the game is minimizing itself more & more. A time will come when you will play almost as yourself, putting yourself in that experience so much that you'll forget about yoruself, its crazy, its science fiction, and the games will open up to be lots of things, whatever you want..

                        You're there.
You're doing it, seeing it, hearing
              it... feeling it.
                             KEITH
              What kind of things exactly?

                             LENNY
              Exactly anything. Whatever you
want. Whoever you want to be.
                 (handing Fabrizio a twenty)
Fabri, get us another round, would
              you.

Fabrizio gets the hint and heads for the bar.

                             LENNY
You want to go skiing without
leaving your den, you can. But I'm
assuming a guy like you, you wanna
go skiing you fly to Aspen. That's
not what you're interested in here.
It's about the stuff you can't
              have... right? The forbidden
              fruit.

    Keith nods, mesmerized by Lenny.

                             LENNY
Like running into a liquor store
with a .357 magnum in your hand,
              feeling the adrenalin pumping
              through your veins. Or...
                      (pointing discreetly)
... see that guy, with the drop-dead
              Philipino girl friend?
                      (Keith looks)
Wouldn't you like to be that guy for
              twenty minutes? The right twenty
minutes. I can make it happen. And
you won't even tarnish your wedding
              ring.

Keith touches his ring self-consciously, then grins.

                             KEITH
                      (hooked like a carp)
              Sounds good.

                             LENNY
I can get you what you want. You
just have to talk to me. I'm your
              priest, your shrink, your main
              connection to the switchboard of
souls. I'm the Magic Man, the Santa
Claus of the Subconscious. You say
it, you even think it, you can have
it. You want a girl, you want two
girls? I don't know what your thing
is or what you're curious about...
you want a guy? You want to be a
girl... see what that feels like?
You want a nun to tie you up? It's
              all doable.

..That's a piece of the script of the 1995's movie Strange Days, the thing in that movie is that some people smuggle videos that you fully experience with a contraption that goes directly to your cerebral cortex. Those videos where previously recorded by people using that contraption thing doing also some ilegal things. Not all the movie is good for me but I like that cerebral cortex thing a lot. I think some of that is happening with video games but we are not really noticing it in its full form. I'm not saying its evil or nothing, I'm saying that games could make some changes in the mind, get into your psyche, your dreams... you experiencing this thing wanting or not, you play it... your there.SO, if you don't want to get no spoilers from the end of Portal 2, this is good time to close the Screenshooter blog and go bake come cookies, because now I'm uploading one of my favorite screens where I shoot that last portal to..

YOU ARE THE ROAD

Hello! I'm bringing a game for all you tonight! (or today)
Is a small casual racer game that came from the Molyjam 2012 (videogames created based in some guy twitts)
In this racer game, you do not control the car, and you are not the driver: YOU ARE THE ROAD.
So, just PLAY YOU ARE THE ROAD HERE and have some pure fast chaotic physic explosion cute car alternative fun. "Alternative", because this game is based on an alternative way of thinking, like the "lateral thinking" way of thinking.
"Lateral thinking is solving problems through an indirect and creative approach, using reasoning that is not immediately obvious and involving ideas that may not be obtainable by using only traditional step-by-step logic." (says wikipedia)

The graphics and physics reminds me of an old super fun game called  IGNITION.
Amazing game with awesome rock with hard bass music, awesome adventurous landscaping, cute 3d modeled cars, and the heavy use of a nitro that re-feels itself in a few seconds. I had my best time playing this in co-op with double or triple screen. That games deserves a hole article! BUT! this game does not have what YOU ARE THE ROAD has, and that's knowing how the cars are feeling...
YES! the game tells you how the cars(not the drivers because i don't saw any) are feeling and that makes you feel things man. I think they are 3(that i cant think of) different ways to play this game. One is trying to make the cars blow up as fast as you can, i don't like this one. Another one is to try to get all the cars alive as much as you can, because with you mouse movement you make the road that comes and the cars responds automatically to that movement, you can make them crazy as caca.

The other way is trying to make the best stunts!
That of course can came up wroung...

This reminds me of another old game that I bought with the paper once, it was called "El País" and talked about whats happening in Uruguay today.... and the game was called BIG RED RACING , a 90's game that i think it looks awesome almost not textured and it was great for making stunts! i loved to do that with my friend Dieguito, ha ha, we had fun playing videogames all the time, I think i have to give him a call someday. Oh this game lets you save a replay of all the race and watch it in different angles, amazing. Now Im thinking of  Carmaggedon 2  but I need to sleep couse i have work tomorrow making something for an augmented reality and some banner with my gfriend.

So, lots of fun with cars.  PLAY YOU ARE THE ROAD, and don't forget to click the left mouse to add some more chaos!

Gbye! tss.

About Me

Well hello.
That squared thing up there is me in an awesome game named "Minecraft"
I won't show my face to let a mistery feeling going on while you read my blog (if you do).
And you can track my face down trough my other blogs so...
Since I'm going to start talking i tought it was a good idea to present myself, in case you end up here somehow and started reading my rants and came asking yourself "who is this guy?" well; Im The Screenshooter.
I love videogames and when my computer starts, fraps* starts too, automatically.

This is the best input key for screenshooting while playing:

right down the "a" key, you know..

I also take pictures in life, i love it, makes me happy, and if im sad, i take pictures too, they keep me going, they could lift me up sometimes, and i can take also registry of my life, like this:

Thats me trespassing on what i thought it was some abandoned fishersman house, i came to discover later that 2 fishermans are using that house, i saw them 2 minutes later I took this picture, around the corner sudenly looking at me like about to kill me, kinda like the feeling you get playing Hitman, another story BUT, I have my adventures, i was trespassing, playing, in life, made my day and got me sick too.

I like that word "trespass", trespassing, like that underated experimental awesome jurassick park game; TRESPASSER, buggy as crap but an awesome game, fisics, big iland, wierd hand control, and big tits, google it if you don't know it, play it, maybe i'll make an article of it in the future in this same blog, stay tunned.

So im from Montevideo, Super Uruguay, that's in latinoamerica and we speak spanish, Hola como andás? soy El DisparaImágenes y no hablaba hasta ahora y nadie me conoce, espero que ahora que hablo alguien siga lo que leo o sino va a ser medio que un bajón dedicarle todo este tiempo al asunto, aunque de ultima me hace feliz escribir acá con la esperanza latente de un lector amante posible seguidor de mi blog.
And I'm not the best writer in english, I think that I actually kinda suck on it, and i didnt get any deegrees in english so i just lerned from movies & videogames and maybe a little tinny thing from school.. But, i think you can get what I say, maybe with a little effort, so thank you, and I'll be getting better at this, Im discovering that I have lots to say and Im gonna say it in english right here so the world can read me.

Resume, Ok; I draw, I photograph, I screenshoot, i studied art, graphic desing, cinema, animation, and life, im always trying to get everything that i can from that school thats always teaching something new, AND, i want to make videogames, videogame designer, developer, thats what i want.
Everything that i know and that i studied is pointing me to that direction now, and i need to know lots more, im a child in this, but im getting bigger!

Im working right now with computer engineers, and we'r making a videogame that we hope it will be out soon for istuff, ios and for the web, here is the link to them http://outboxlabs.com/
One of my co-workers is my old friend from highschool Max, we where playing and thinking of games since we where kids, I also know artists, 3d artists, musicians and writers, so i think we'll come up with something interesting if we join forces (C'MON YOU APES YOU WANNA LIVE FOREVER?!).

It's not easy to work with engineers. Artists and engineers are mostly different kind of people, so much different that they most use different parts of the brain to came up with what they do, but to make games, engineer and artists have to listen to eachother to work as one and respect their works, you do this i do that lets unite that power and make something that moves and responds well designed and beautyfully crafted, that union is like god making the planet, c'mon, we can make whatever we want!

I also like lots of music, but my favourite band should be UNDERWORLD, electronic powered low bass high dance have fun be sad or whatever you like music, good for working, good for thinking, good for playing, good for dancing. I discovered this band in a tent inside a forest near a beach in uruguay around 2006.

And, im a model from 1984, made of a perfect exactly amount of 50% of my mother & my father, love them, made my life a little harder taking care to much of me, mama's boy i am, i came up shy, more inside than outside the house, playing videogames a lot(pc), so; I want to make videogames thinking about me & that little guy too, for all those guys that are afraid to came out and play more in there lives, making good games with no violence, thinking games, exploration games, mostly first person games, and maybe, MAYBE trigger some kind of button that make those guys get out for a while and see whats in the garden, and of course, smell the flowers.

Hitman 2 Silent Assassin
I don't care its the year 2012 and that this game is 10 years old, maybe I have to add some of my imagination there to fill some holes, but I was having fun playing this one waiting for the "Absolution" to come somewhere around this year, can't wait. I was having fun whit this one becouse some other thing cross my path, a game that was waiting for me to plug it in for a while, had some frind insiting on that, so, the next post is about this thing that I think is a masterpiece in videogaming.

Ok, back to Hitman, I love the feeling of being hidden right there in the shadows with my assasin secret to tell to just some characters in the game, this one is kinda buggy about it, sometimes im just standing there and some gurd starts to shoot me because... I look suspicious? Maybe, but its a way to hide the fact that this game doesnt have real good A.I., but thats ok, its an old game and i remamber playing it in that time and i was shocked by it, also with the fact that everyone had to pee a lot and they also had a finger for a pennis(really, they didnt modeled the pennis, they just stacked a finger in there, it was really funny)

I think we have ways to play games, or different people that plays in different ways, I mean, you can also PLAY inside the game, what i mean with thay its that I can BE that guy, I can be that big skinny bold guy and submerge myself into those rules, that realitty, and don't complain about the fact that the AI isn't good, and play by that rules, thats good, thats nice, i can have fun with this, some objetive to assasin, some bad guys, can be noisy can be silent and I also can do this: if Im in the middle of some deadly disguised as a cook bussiness and i blow my cover, i will try to fix it in game and not load instantly(actually if you play in expert mode you have only 3 saves) and that adds lots of spice to the experience. If you load all the time you get yourself out of the game experience a lot, missing the adventure of trying to save your neck by hiding in a room, kill the first guard, take his cloth, hide the dead guy and walk back to action passing next to another guard that looks at you and your heart just pumps harder & you get out of the house and your safe, looking at the trees you can breath againg, you'll miss that if you just quickload. I know that because i used to play like that, trying to make everything perfect, thats not for me and i also think that life is not like that. I compare videogames with life a lot, your way of playing shows the way you are, and i mean that! take a look at the desitions you make in videogames and in life, are you making the most of what life gives you? or are you thinking everything to much and not taking action? are you using those granades that are so fun and usefull to use in Quake 2? or are you'r saving 50 of them in case that a bigg boss cames up? he need only around 10 I can tell you :)
So, movies looks like life, but games are more like it; you can choose. Choose life, I mean videogames ...I mean life.

minecraft

underwater house kipping

In minecraft the player can feel such a freedom, that the regular player wouldn't know what to do, where to start, how to do this. It reminders me the first time that I played Morrowind. In Morrowind i had to forgot lots of things about guided games and started all over again, how's that? well... In other games i used to get everything that i found around and put it in my backpack(thats my favourite english word), and normally, doesnt matter how much stuff i put there, everything fitted, excepto for some rpg games but, well, dind't play to much of those, maybe i dind't really liked the point of view, what i really like is to see things with my eyes, i want to be the character, not see him from above, that separates myself from the experience, SO, i was always taking everything that i could before and in this particular game that wasn't an option, i mean, to beguin with the character that i like to choose normally looks like me, i never wanted to be an orc or some big musculous pennis character waving humongous axes, i wanted to be me, or the closest to that that i could get (in some games i had to be a girl to achieve that), couse im skinny and fast, i like arrows and dagger if a had to use medieval weapons, and i can't just get myself into a big fight with my skinny self, they'll kick my ass in a sec, SO, couse i chossed a skinny character i couldnt carry to much things either in Morrowind "You are over-encumbered and cannot run" the game says, and i had to learn that i just couldn't get to do everything, not only in what i carry on, also in what i had to do, to manny options to manny quests, i had to choose something, to be a magician or to be a warrior, to use this big axes or to use something that suits me more, like shortswords & daggers, becouse the game dosn't came with that chewed up, you can do what you want, that doesnt mean thats gonna be good for you, like going naked just because you want to feel the breeze:

That was a screen from Skyrim, not Morrowind(had a problem with those). So, if I want i can go naked doing quests and thats feels awesome, thanks, in almost all Bethesda games you can do that. I know that provably most rpg games let you do this and take lots of decitions as you want, but less of them are in first person, thats an enormous difference for me.
In Minecraft you can do that too, you can edit your skin with a program called "skinedit"(waw) and you can use ii in your game, or you can download some from many places around the internet. In the beautyfully taken screenshoot on top of this article you can see myself in summer minecraft skin in my underwater house, made by me of course.
I play Minecraft with 4 more friends, its very improvable to get the 4 of us playing at the same time (maybe never happened) but its amazing to see what these guys can(and cannot) do, of course, if you don't know Minecraft, its a game where everything is made out of material cubes, basically you can take these cubes out an put theme somewhere else, also combining them to make another material or tool and so you can built whatever you want, like in lego, except for the monsters that apears at night(protecto yourself).
It's not easy to start playing this game from scratch, i think the best is to have some guidance, i had my friends helping me, giving me some materials, food(yeah you need to eat)and theres a bible, the minecraft wiki http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/Minecraft_Wiki where you can find everithing that you need to build or deal wilth whatever you could find in this infinite game. Also, the game autogenerates itself.. .. .. .. ..... fo real, so you can just go around and explore whatever cames in your path, like gigantuous underworled mines(this is where you get the best materials, like diamonds), and there's also THE NETHER, i don't go there...
So, in this game you'r you in your full form(say that fast), what you built and where you built it shows who you are right now, you thing thats too much? i don't think so, i think games like these shows your abilities, your fears, your obsesions;

In the screen above Jhon_Peter character says "I suffer the same fears in minecraft that in real life", like for example, he always builts his house near the sea, not only because he likes to see the sunset in the ocean, also because he feels claustrophobic in other places, this thing happends to him also in real life, amazing ha? So if you think games are silly, well think again mr i know everything! haha im having fun, but thats also true, videogames have grate power. If you want to listen to a person that really thinks that games are powerfull stuff, cheq out Jane McGonigal, she works in the online gamming industry: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dE1DuBesGYM

And  seeing my friends playing its exactly like seeing them in real life! how they frenetically or slowly they move, are they distracted by the pretty things or they are more like hardworkers that are optimizing time to get what they want?, do they help you a or are just all the time in there bussiness? are they leaders? is there any leader? do they bulit his house close to yours? or they prefer an isolated place? also how is he today! you name it, AND, are they making the most of what life gives to them? Maybe the are just doing in games what they cannot do in life(cheq out that youtube link i linked above), like me; When I built in Minecraft, makes want to go and built in real life, I can't right now, but I will.

 Things come.TSS
